Ayurvedic Remedy for Insomnia / Sleeplessness – Remedy 1

Lot of people have been suffering from sleeplessness, which is called insomnia in medical terminology.  They are prescribed sleeping pills, which in long run can cause lot of side effects such as memory issues. Maharshi advices not to eat meals in the afternoon and take light food instead. He also says that old age people does not require more sleep and if they sleep at 8 p.m., they can wake up at 1 or 2 a.m., which is normal and it is according to their body’s tatva. They should read a book and when the mind is tired, slowly they go into sleep again. Sleeplessness is more persistent when someone is mentally disturbed. They should not resort to alcohol or sleeping pills to get the sleep. They should get rid of that disturbance to get the sleep normally. Following is a simple remedy to induce sleep.

Ingredients:

  •  Mahwa, Mahua / Madhuca longifolia / Madhuca (मधुक) / Mahua (महुआ) / Vippa Puvvu Chettu (విప్ప పువ్వు చెట్టు) dried flowers

Preparation:

Usage:
Eat few flowers before going to bed.

It will help in getting sleep. Also, it will cleanse the blood and help in blood production. It will also strengthen the body and the gums.

Also, add a camphor pill [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK] to 2-3 teaspoons of sesame oil [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK] and boil until the pill dissolves. Let is cool to lukewarm and apply it to both soles of feet before going to bed. Eat onion in the dinner. Add two spoons of Ashwagandha powder [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK] to a glass of milk and drink.
