Ayurvedic Remedies for Wounds in the Legs due to Diabetes

This is a proven remedy to cure chronic wounds and ulcers on the legs.  Neglecting the diabetes for a long time may result in developing chronic ulcers on legs (sometimes with maggots in it). This may lead to amputation of the limbs  if untreated.

Remedy I:

Ingredients:

  • Custard apple / Sitaphal (सीताफल) / Seethaphalam (సీతాఫలం) leaves
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi (हल्दी) / Pasupu (పసుపు) [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK]
  • Cow urine / Gaumuthr (गोमूत्र) / Gomuthram (గోమూత్రం) [Buy Online at Amazon India / US]

Preparation:
Grind custard apple leaf with turmeric and make paste.

Usage:
Apply this paste after washing the wound area and cover with cotton gauze. Do it four times. Also, take cow urine four times a day.

Remedy II:

Ingredients:

  • Custard apple / Sitaphal (सीताफल) / Seethaphalam (సీతాఫలం) leaves
  • Tobacco / Tambaku (तंबाकू) / Pogaku (పొగాకు) leaves
  • Camphor / Kapoor (कपूर) / Karpuram (కర్పూరo) [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK]
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi (हल्दी) / Pasupu (పసుపు) [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK]

Preparation:
Grind all above together and make paste.

Usage:
Clean the wounds with lukewarm decoction made of any two or three of the following plants’ barks – Neem, Banyan, Sacred fig, Cluster fig, prickly acacia, jamun.  Boil the barks in water till 1/8th remains. Pat it dry and apply this paste and cover with cotton gauze.

Remedy III:

Ingredients:

  • Indian Beech, Pongam oiltree / Millettia pinnata / Karanj (करंज ) / Kanuga (కానుగ) seeds
  • Neem / Azadirachta indicva / Nimba (निम्ब) / Neem (नीम) / Vepa (వేప) bark powder [Buy Online at Amazon India / US / Canada / UK]
  • Five-leaved chaste tree / Vitex negundo / Sindhuvara (सिन्धुवार) / Nirgundi (निर्गुंडी) / Vavili, Vayili (వావిలి, వాయిలి) leaves

Preparation:
Take these three in equal quantities and make paste.

Usage:
Apply this on the wounds with maggots to get rid of them.
